To Blog or not to blog

Yes- he has a double chin
When I found out I was pregnant I thought about starting a journal and showing it to my child (ok- "my child" still sounds weird to me) but being the procrastinator that I am I never ended up starting it.  Honestly the last couple of months has flown by and it's hard to believe I am more than halfway done with this pregnancy.  I'll have a baby in about 4 months.  I will be responsible for someone's life!  scary.  I don't know what is scarier- between worrying about money (seriously- how do people afford kids?  I am still not so sure I can and I have a decent job!) or worrying about not being able to tell what the baby needs.  It's not like they can sit up and say "Hey Ma- my diaper has a surprise for you in it".  I know it's all trial and error however I'm beginning to think I'm not as laid back as I once thought I was.
Just recently my giant panther of a cat, Chode, was sick.  He was constipated.  I started to notice how lethargic he was and asked Michael if he'd been pooping regularly.  Not exactly something he'd been paying attention to.  Anyway- I started monitoring his input/ output starting on Thursday.  Nothing- he wasn't eating, wasn't drinking, wasn't pooping, although he was still peeing somehow.  Monday morning I made an appointment with the vet.  (and this was after trying to feed him soft food with benefiber in it and putting vasceline on his hiney to try to loosen things up).  The vet wanted to do some bloodwork, x rays (to see if he had something called megacolon- it sounds like a transformers name), he also did an enema and gave him some fluids.  Nothing.  The poor guys x-ray showed his spine on top of the biggest poop log I've seen.  Since he wasn't dehydrated the vet said to take him home and call him in the morning if there was no "movement".  When we got home he immediately went to his litterbox and had two decent size dumps.  I gave him the liquid laxative the vet had prescribed and watched him for the rest of the night.  Thankfully it was the beginning of him getting better but not only did it make me think about my child because he was sick and I had virtually no control over it but the BILL MADE ME THINK ABOUT HAVING A KID.  That freaking vet bill was over $500!!! and basically all for an enema!!!!!  and they sell them at CVS for $10.  The things you do for your kids.  :)
